Burst Blinker Module
- aka KomfortBlinker, from CXI
The "Burst Blinker" module is a hardware item that adds functionality to your turn signal switch..
Many newer cars have enhanced the function of turn signal stalk switch so that if you "softly" push the arm (push to where the signal flashes, but is not locked, and release it immediately), the turn signal will flash three times. This is handier than having to hold the stalk for a few flashes. It is also handier than clicking the stalk over to flash, and then having to manually cancel it. This enhancement is very useful for lane changes, and with a quick flick of your finger, you can signal a lane change without every really having your hand leave the steering wheel.
The "Burst Blinker" module, supplied by MCPi, provides this same functionality to many VAG vehicles that did not come with the feature from the factory. The feature may also be referred to as a "lane-change" signal. The module takes only 5 wire connections to work, and it mimics the functionality built in to newer Audi's perfectly. Wires are connected with wire taps - no cutting, soldering, or splicing of wires is required. The unit is re-programmable by the end user to 3, 4, 5, or 6 "burst" flashes when the stalk is tapped, or it can be set to stock functionality.
